Constructive Partnerships Unlimited (CPU) hosted a fashion show with a display of stylish ensembles as nearly a dozen models representing the people supported by and within the nonprofit strutted their stuff at the inaugural CP Unlimited Style event Dec. 12 at Civic Hall in Manhattan.

In partnership with the Runway of Dreams Foundation and with dresses donated from Badgley Mischka, models were looking their best as they walked the catwalk, according to the organization.

The night also featured a live art painting and music with more than $30,000 raised for CPU’s programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those seeking emergency housing. The event attracted nearly 100 guests, including New York’s Office for People With Developmental Disabilities Commissioner Willow Baer.

CPU Board Member Carol Kirkman highlighted the benefits the organization brings to her son Paul who was also a model at the event. One major highlight was a speech and performance by model Marc Mendez who shared his experience.

“Having my own apartment has amplified my sense of confidence and my own self-worth. Every opportunity to run my own household, I do anything and everything I can to maintain my apartment,” he said in a statement.
