Art Making Workshop at NYBG

–
July 19, 2026

(In-person)

Led by sisters Annie Nishwani Lachhman and Lakshmee Lachhman-Persad, a celebrated disabled artist and the founder of Accessible Travel NYC, respectively, the workshop at the New York Botanical Garden invites disabled people, families, and allies to create art that reflects what disability pride actually feels like from the inside. The program area is fully wheelchair accessible, visual descriptions will be provided throughout, and ASL interpretation is available upon request (contact publiceducation@nybg.org by July 10). It's also set against the backdrop of NYBG's current Flower Powerexhibition, which provides beautiful scenery worth seeing.

All Disability Pride Month programming at NYBG is included with the All-Garden Pass. For tickets and accessibility information, visit nybg.org.
