Celebrate Disability Pride Month by creating a handheld flag inspired by disability pride, belonging, and disability culture at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Led by disabled artist Annie Nishwani Lachhman and disability inclusion educator Lakshmee Lachhman-Persad, the workshops invite disabled people, families, friends, and allies to explore disability pride, identity, belonging, and joy through creativity. Accessible art materials and additional access supports will be available. This welcoming program encourages participants to engage in the way that works best for them. Families, caregivers, personal care attendants, friends, allies, and people of all experience levels are welcome.
